I got to Dallas at 1:40 pm and didn't make it in time to pick the kids up from school, but met them at their house at 3:20. They showed me their new puppy, Donatello, and some of the cool tricks they could do on their swing set.
We left their house and checked into our hotel, the Hilton Garden Inn. We played with Star Wars toys and watched a couple of Star Wars Lego videos, and decided that it was time to eat. We went to McDonalds where Lizi ate everybody, myself included, under the table, getting down two hamburgers and a double cheeseburger. (By the way, she told me 2 1/2 hours later that she was hungry again). The kids played on the play place there for about 40 minutes and then we headed to walmart for a few groceries.
We came home, played a game called "Don't eat Pete" and then read books and went to bed.
Quote of the day:
Trey: Daddy, did they have electricity when you were young?

We woke up a few minutes after 7:00am and played UNO for a little bit. After UNO, we ate breakfast and after breakfast we played with Star Wars figures. I found out that Trey's baseball game was cancelled because the field was too wet after yesterday's rain. I was so bummed! We headed out to play at the park just south of their school. We played on the playground first and then Trey and I played catch with the baseball, followed by Shelby and I playing catch. Then Trey wanted to hit a few balls so I pitched to him and then to Shelby. Lizi was by us helping us gather the balls and playing with the Frisbee. Just as we were finishing up, the kids saw some of their friends - Aurora and her sister. So the kids played on the playground with them while I talked with the Dad, Mark.
We left the park and went to go get some pizza. After coming home and eating our pizza, we went to a "party" that Shelby's gymnastics place, Eagle's Wings, was having to celebrate National Gymnastics Day. The kids had a lot of fun running and jumping around on the mats and even trying some of the apparatus', especially Shelby who got a free t-shirt for trying them all.
After the party, we went to Dick's Sporting Goods where we looked around. As we were leaving I told the kids that if the Golf Pro job opened up there, I might move to Texas so I could spend more time with them. Trey immediately said with a sad voice, "But then we couldn't go to Utah." It made me realize how much they really like Utah.
When we got home, we played UNO and got our swim suits on and went swimming. The water was cold, especially compared to the Arscotts pool in Utah where we swim all the time. We didn't swim for long. We came back up, had baths, watched Ernest Goes to Camp, read books, and went to bed.
Quote of the day:
While Lizi was playing with 2 Star Wars figures, she was pretending that one was talking to the other and I caught a part of the conversation the figures were having: "How about I build the Death Star and you just chillax."

We woke up, ate breakfast, and watched Ernest Goes to Jail. After watching the movie, Trey and I played UNO while Shelby and Lizi played with Disney Polly Pockets that I brought from Utah. We then got ready for and went to church. After church, we ate lunch and watched football for a little bit. It was fun to teach the kids how to tell what the score is and see how interested they were in it.
After football, we went to the park and played Frisbee and baseball. First Shelby batted and then Trey did. Then Trey and I played catch while Shelby and Lizi played on the playground. We then went to their mom's house to pick up their school backpacks for school the next day.
After getting the backpacks, we came back to the hotel, ate some dinner and played Don't Eat Pete. After the game, Lizi fell asleep and Trey and Shelby helped me pack up everybody's clothes in their suitcases. We then read books and went to bed.
Quote of the day: Trey - "I'm about to laugh my lungs out!"

We woke up 10 minutes after 6:00 to get Shelby and Trey ready for school. I had them eating breakfast while I took a shower. They got dressed in their school clothes and we headed out for school, arriving there at 7:30. I got a couple of pictures of the kids in front of the school, said bye to Shelby and Trey and then dropped Lizi off at her mom's before heading to the airport.
Quote of the day - Me to Lizi: "I need to find room in my suitcase and stuff you in!" Lizi, in an excited tone, "For real?!?"
