Saturday, March 9th - I was woken up by hearing Lizi call Figaro's name as he wandered through the house and Trey "shushing" lizi reminding her to be quiet. It was cute. When I got up I saw Lizi in the back yard with Figaro and Smokey in her lap and Daisy and Wendy not far away. Trey was in the Disney room playing with legos and Shelby was still sleeping. When Lizi came inside we went to her room and looked at her legos and Shelby heard us and got up. We then ate breakfast and went to play golf. After golf, we came home and waited for Liz, Jenna, and Judi to get home from Provo. The kids all found hiding spots to hide from Judi so she could find them when she got home. Judi found Trey first, hiding under Shelby and Lizi's bed. Lizi was the next to be found hiding in the bathroom under the sink. Shelby was the last to be found hiding under a pile of blankets on the floor in my room. Judi showed Trey and Lizi her remote control car and then we got ready to go play pickleball. We had some fun games! After pickleball, we came home and I gave the kids some Disney pins I got for them at the Disneyana Show. Then Trey and I went outside to play football; Liz, Jenna, and Shelby went to the store and then to the Library to look for a book for Shelby that they couldn't find; And Lizi and Judi played legos in Lizi's room. We then ate dinner and played with legos - Lizi and Judi played at first in Lizi's room while Shelby played in the living room and Trey and I played in the Disney room, putting together a set for Lizi. Then I put Judi to bed and Trey went to Lizi's room to play with her and I went into the living room to play with Shelby. It was a really fun day!
Sunday, March 10th - When I got up Lizi and Trey were playing with legos in Lizi's room. We all had showers, ate breakfast and got ready for church. When we got home, Shelby and I played "Scales and Arpeggios" on the piano while the other kids played with legos. Then we rode bikes in the pit and had lunch. After lunch we went back outside and rode bikes again. Then everyone got on the trampoline for a while and shot the basketball into the hoop and played hot lava with a bunch of balls. Shelby and Lizi went inside and Shelby painted her nails and Lizi played with legos before also painting her nails. Trey and Judi kept playing on the trampoline outside. They were so cute to watch playing together. Trey and Liz played some foosball while the girls painted their nails as well and then Trey and I played. We then came in and watched Nacho Libre which the kids seemed to like. We also had some strawberry shortcake while watching it. The kids then had a short webchat with their mom and we also looked at some trophies/memorabilia from Grandpa Hubert to see what the kids would want. We then had some dinner and got ready for bed.
Monday, March 11th - I woke up and went to work this morning. As I was getting ready, I saw that Shelby had come out to the couch to sleep. While I was at work, Trey woke up first and went in and pounced Liz. Liz turned a show on for him and soon everyone else was up. They then had breakfast and went out and rode bikes. Then Trey and Judi were on the swings, Lizi jumped on the trampoline, and Shelby played on the piano. Everyone then went to St George and went to DI first to get clothes for Trey and Lizi who left clothes at home. They then had Pizza and went to a puppy store. They then came home and rode bikes again. Judi and Lizi also played in the sand box and Shelby and Trey went down to the hammock. Then everyone played in the clubhouse - Judi and Lizi made a store and served chicken noodle soup and kabobs. Shelby also went inside and played with her dragon legos in her room while Liz took Trey out to the golf course to play golf with me and Judi and Lizi went with Liz to pick up a lego table. Trey played really good today at golf - I think the best he's ever played. He pared hole 4 - and beat me since I bogeyed it. Our cart died near the end and we had to walk in. When we got home we had dinner while we watched American Idol and then we played with legos for a while before we got ready for bed.
Tuesday, March 12 - When I woke up, Trey and Lizi were playing legos in Lizi's room. I went and got ready for the day and when I came back out into the living room, all the kids were up and watching PJ Masks. After the show was over, we ate breakfast and then played with legos. Judi and Lizi are creating "Disneyland on a table in our entry way and Trey, Shelby, and I have been trying to build as many lego characters as we can with the pieces that Liz got. Trey, Shelby, and I then went outside and played knock out (basketball) and Lizi and Judi played in the clubhouse. We then all rode bikes. We came in and had some lunch and then went to the church field and played kickball and ultimate frisbee. It was SO MUCH fun! We then went to the pickleball court and played. I played with Lizi while Liz, Trey, and Shelby played a game. I then jumped in their game. When everyone was tired, they went to the car and Trey and I played a game of singles and he did really good! And so did Lizi when I played with her too! We came home and had dinner and then rode bikes some more. Lizi, Trey, and Judi played on the trampoline while Shelby and I talked on the swing. We talked about how beautiful this area is to live in. We then went in and read about what the new Star Wars Land is going to be like at Disneyland and watched Hercules and then got ready for bed.
Quote of the day - Shelby: "You sound in-digested." Me: "You mean congested?" Shelby: "Yeah, congested."
Wednesday, March 13 - I woke up about 8 and went to check on the kids. They were all asleep so I went to get ready for the day. When I was finished getting ready, Judi, Lizi, and Trey were all playing with legos. We ate pancakes for breakfast and then continued playing legos - Shelby and I putting together an "Iron Gallum" from mine craft, Trey playing with his Star Wars legos, and Lizi and Judi playing with the Disneyland that they made with their legos. It was really cold and windy so we mostly stayed inside today. While I was making lunch, Trey wanted to go outside for a minute and jump on the trampoline. Suddenly and Shelby and were looking out the blinds on the back door, we see Trey just booking it towards the house. I would have been worried, but I could see excitement on his face. When he opened the door, he excitedly said, "It's snowing!" The kids all grabbed some warm clothes and went outside to check it out and sure enough it was flaking pretty good. The kids started riding bikes for a little bit - a lot longer than I thought they would considering how cold it was outside! Shelby came in first and started playing with the lego dragons in her room. I grabbed my pin board, which I needed to rearrange, and went to her room to do it in there with her. Soon she grabbed her pin board as well. Judi, Lizi, and Trey were all playing in the clubhouse, Lizi and Judi making hot chocolate and chicken noodle soup for Trey. When the kids started coming back inside one by one they all grabbed their pin boards too and we all moved to the Disney room to organize our pin boards. Trey finished first and went back out to play with Star Wars legos. We then watched Lady and the Tramp and ate dinner. After dinner Shelby, Trey, Liz, and I played settlers and Judi and Lizi played with their legos. We then all got ready for bed.
Thursday, March 14th - When I woke up, the kids were all still asleep so I went to get ready for the day and when I came back to check on them, they were all up already and playing in Shelby and Lizi's room. We ate breakfast and played legos. It was still pretty cold outside with the wind blowing so we stayed in for most of the morning. Trey went outside for a little bit and laid in the sun and played with the balls for a little while. When he came back in, we all played legos for a little while longer and then we played a couple of games of Sceneit. After Sceneit we went outside and rode bikes for quite a while. It was so much fun, with a lot of crashes. Judi caused a crash with Shelby and Lizi and then Trey's bike broke down and he and I fixed it. We came back in and watched Mulan and then had dinner. After dinner, Trey, Shelby, Liz, and I played 2 games of Settlers and Judi and Lizi did a 14 minute Main Street Electrical Parade which was so cool! Those two are so creative with their little lights they shine on the floats they made. They even made a Pete's Dragon float! I then showed Trey and Shelby how to sell things on ebay and then we got ready for bed.
Friday, March 15th - I woke up and checked on the kids. Trey was awake in bed so I told him to get a little more sleep while I got ready for the day. When I came back in to check on them, Trey and Lizi were up and we went to wake up Judi and Shelby to eat some cereal with us. After we ate, Trey and I finished the Iron Gallum lego set, Judi and Lizi played with their Disneyland lego creation. Shelby drew a little in her room and came out to the couch and watched us play with the legos. Shelby was drawing the Disneyland castle on her head board and it looks incredible so far! We went out to ride bikes for a little bit and then came in for lunch. After lunch we all went to the church field to play kickball, Ultimate frisbee, and then we drove to the pickleball courts to play pickleball. It was so much fun - one of my favorite things to do with them. They all played everything so good! When we got home, we went out and rode bikes - another one of my favorite things to do! We made a good trail down in the pit! We also rode to the mail box to get the mail. Trey and I then played some basketball while Shelby and Judi played in the sandbox. Lizi then came out and joined them. When Trey and I were done playing basketball, Trey went and played in the sandbox too and I went over and sat down by them and watched. We then went in for dinner and to play Settlers. We played 2 games. Trey won the first game and Shelby won the second game! I was so proud of them! They have gotten so much better! Lizi and Judi watched a couple of shows on TV while we played. When we were done, I found Lizi in the Disney room looking at her binder and at the maps binder which absolutely made my day! It was also exciting that Trey wanted to take his binder back to Texas to show his cousins. We had a late night, staying up until midnight. But we had so much fun talking and spending time together! It was a great last day!
Saturday, March 16th - I heard Trey come in my room this morning and stand in my door way to see if I was awake yet. We had a late night last night, but I knew Trey would be up early since we were leaving for the airport early. I got up with him. He said he'd already tried to wake up the girls and when I went into their bedroom, they were still in bed but awake. We all got up and ate some breakfast. Then we got ready to get to the airport. The kids said bye to the animals and did a final walk through to make sure they got everything. We headed to the airport at 9:30am. I sat in the far back with Shelby, and Trey, Lizi, and Judi sat in the middle. Shelby and I talked for the first 30 minutes and then we all played some "go fish" and UNO. It was a fun car ride and seemed to go by fast - too fast. We got to the airport and went to the Spirit ticket counter to meet their mom. Their mom found Shelby's ring at lost and found so Shelby was really happy! Lizi was a little more sad than normal to go. I really think the atmosphere in Utah is better for her personality than the atmosphere in Texas. We had such a fun visit!
